John 8:51 "I assure you, anyone who obeys my teaching will never die!"
The Christmas season is often one of reflection as we remember the year that has past. It can be a difficult season as this is when the loss of a loved one hurts the most. But in the midst of the Christmas story and the life of Jesus is this truth...Jesus promises eternal life. That is worth celebrating, singing about and sharing with others!

Good Words
John 6:68 "Simon Peter replied, "Lord, to whom would we go? You alone have the words that give eternal life."
Given the permission to leave by Jesus, Peter says there is nowhere else to go. Of course there were other places to go, other leaders to follow, and other philosophies to live by. But Jesus had something special-the words that give eternal life. You can't find those words just anywhere. They don't show up in any book, website, blog or tweet. They come from Jesus alone. So honestly, why go anywhere else?

Late Wine
John 2:10 "Usually a host serves the best wine first," he said. "Then, when everyone is full and doesn't care, he brings out the less expensive wines. But you have kept the best until now!"
I don't think this is the exact intent of this story, but here's a thought...sometimes Jesus saves the best for last. Sometimes things don't happen when I want them to happen. Sometimes God's timing is not identical to mine. But, Jesus is always good. And sometimes his good appears to come late-at the end of the party. The point-be patient. Wait around til the end of the party. Have faith that Jesus comes through in the end.

Incarnation
John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."
I cannot get to God. So he came to me. We call this Incarnation. We call this Christmas. God came to me just as I am. That is beautiful!
