2 Cor. 3:3 "Clearly you are a letter from Christ prepared by us. It is written not with pen and ink, but with the spirit of the living God. It is carved not on stone, but on human hearts."
Paul is comparing the old covenant with the new covenant. As great as the old covenant was, it was written on stone, but the new covenant is written on our hearts. We are a letter written by Christ. God's truth is written on us.
So yesterday I am a smell and today a letter! God's truth should be written on my heart. Is it? Is it something in my heart, my life, written into the very being of who I am, or is it still simply written with pen and ink on a piece of paper placed on a dusty bookshelf? I need to hide God's word in my heart. It needs to become part of me, not just something I believe in and read from time to time.
Dear Lord, help me to hide your word in my heart. Amen.
