Revelation 21: "He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
John is writing about his revelation from God and he describes the new heaven and the new earth. In the new Jerusalem, seated on the throne God declares he is making all things new. The earth is new, heaven is new, his city is new, and his people will be new. Everything in creation will be new.
I love these words. I love the idea that God will make all things new in the end, and in fact is in the process of renewing us all now. That is the work of Christ in the lives of people. He takes old things and makes them new. He removes the old dead stuff in our lives and re creates us in his image. We cannot and will not remain the same once in Christ Jesus.
Dear Jesus, help me each day to allow myself to be made new in your image. Amen.
