Phil. 2:7-8 "Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross."
Jesus was deity. He was God's son and really had all authority and power. Yet he thought nothing of that and humbled himself for the good of the world.
So often, I get caught up in what I've earned or what I feel is owed to me. I spend much of my time thinking about my money, my stuff, my reputation, and my capital. But I need to have the attitude of Christ. I should think nothing of what I've earned, accomplished or collected. If he didn't take advantage of his power and authority, who am I? What can I let go of to be used by God more?
Dear Jesus, help me let go of my addiction to what is mine. Amen.
