God's Armor

Ephesians 6:13 "Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm."

Paul instructs believers to wear "God's armor" so that we can stand firm and conquer Satan. It's easy to assume that Paul used the common Roman soldier as an inspiration for this passage as they were common in his day. However, that dream and this passage remind me that if I am to conquer Satan and his plans I must wear the armor of Jesus. My armor and my fighting techniques will fail. Only his sword, shield, and helmet will allow me to be victorious.

Dear Jesus, remind me daily I am in a war and I need your armor. Amen.
