Micah 6:8 "He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

Micah is telling the Israelites what's in store for them.  He asks them hypothetically how they are to get out of this predicament.  Should they sacrifice more animals?  Will that appease God?  Should they sacrifice their children?  Will that appease God?  Micah says no, God has already showed them what he requires of them....act justly, love mercy, walk humbly.  That's what God really wants.

At the end of the day it kind of comes down to this.  God wants me to do what is right, be merciful and loving, and be a humble person.  That is what my life should look like.  How am I doing in this area?  I'd say I am a 7 out of 10.  I guess that proves I am not humble!  I need to be humbled daily.  I need to show mercy daily.  And I need to remember to do what is right and act justly.  I can only do these things by relying on Jesus.  I can't do this on my own.

Dear Jesus, help me do what is right.  Help me be merciful.  And help me be humble.  Amen.
