The Right Kind of Wrong Crowd

Luke 15: 1 "Now the tax collectors and "sinners" were all gathering around to hear him."

Jesus had a large following of tax collectors and other sinners. The Pharisees always gave him a hard time about this so this time, Jesus tells them three stories. He tells them the story of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son.

I find it interesting that Jesus talks about these lost items after getting ripped for hanging with the wrong crowd. So who represents the lost coin, the lost sheep and the lost son-the sinners and low lifes Jesus is hanging with and getting ripped for! I often relate this story to me and think of myself as the lost one Jesus loves and drops everything to find. But, the people I don't really like and the people I don't hang out with are the lost ones. I need to search for them. I need to spend more time with the rejected and the lost.

Dear Jesus, help me hang with the right kind of wrong crowd. Amen.
