1 Kings 3:9 "Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours."
Solomon is now king and is obediently following God. God tells Solomon he may have anything he wishes so Solomon asks the Lord for wisdom.
I love how humble Solomon is. He has just been made king and can say and do whatever he wants. He could have just as easily taken advantage of his position and gone his own way. Instead he humbles himself, and asks God to give him wisdom not for his own glory but in order to govern the people better. Today I need to be humble and ask God to give me wisdom and understanding. I don't have it all figured out. I probably have less than 1% of anything figured out! I need God's guidance today.
Dear Jesus, please give me your wisdom and understanding today. Amen.
