Wholehearted

2 Chronicles 31:21 "In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered."

Hezekiah was a good king.  Finally, there was a good king!  And Hezekiah set out to point the nation back to the Lord.  This verse tells us that he sought the Lord and worked for him wholeheartedly.  And because of Hezekiah's determination and faithfulness to the Lord, he prospered.

How often do I wholeheartedly seek to work for the Lord?  Not enough.  I work hard no doubt, but many times it's for me, my boss, my students or for my volunteers.  I do it for them.  And I know what I do for them, is doing it for the Lord, but I need to place God #1 on my priority list.  How often do I do something JUST for the Lord?  Today I need to do things that please him and not for any other purpose.

Dear Jesus, help me please you and help me be wholehearted in my work.  Amen.
