Malachi 1:14 "Cursed is the cheat who promises to give a fine ram from his flock but then sacrifices a defective one to the Lord."
I have a confession, I've re-gifted things before at Christmas time. It's usually just a gift card to a restaurant I know I'll never visit or a box of candy I pass on to the kids' teachers. In fact if I ever give you a Subway or Bath and Body gift card as a gift, you can be sure I've re-gifted. The point is, I don't always give my best. Like the subjects in Malachi I don't always give my best to God. And he doesn't refer to me just as a "re-gifter" or a "cheapskate." He calls me a "cheat." When I don't give God my best, I'm cheating him. How can I be sure to give God my best today? How can I make sure I am not just going through the motions, but rather giving God my whole heart?
