Proverbs 10:17 "He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray."
Solomon says discipline is so important it shows the way to life. It doesn't just help you get a long better or become a better citizen, it actually leads to life.
How prideful am I? How often do I think I have all the answers or the best answers? When was the last time I listened to some discipline in my life or received correction from someone older and wiser than me? I want to live a life that is actually full of life. In order to do that I need to listen to others. Who can I listen to today? Who has God placed around me that can encourage me, counsel me, and discipline me when need be?
Dear Jesus, help me listen to those you have surrounded me with today. Amen.
